Abstract
Felt report for the December 16, 1811 earthquake. Time of earthquake was “about 3 o’clock” am ( local time). The effect was to alarm people and make them jump out of bed. Second earthquake was felt “about 7 o’clock” am (local time) . Effect of the second earthquake was “not as violent as the first”. Good short report.

PITTSBURG, Dec. 20. On Monday morning last, about 3 o'clock, the citizens of this town were greatly alarmed by the shock of an earthquake; a number of persons from the shaking of their houses, were so much alarmed as to jump out of bed. About 7 o'clock the same morning, there was another shock though not so violent as the first.
