Abstract
Felt report for December 16, 1811 earthquake from Pittsburgh, PA. Time of the first quake was “about 3 o’clock” am(local time). Effect was to shake houses so that residents fled them. Another earthquake was felt at “about 7 o’clock” am (local time). This one was characterized as less violent. Source is the Pittsburg Gazette

On Monday morning the 16th inst. about three o'clock, the citizens of Pittsburgh, were greatly alarmed by the shock of an Earthquake; a number of persons from the shaking of their houses were so much alarmed as to jump out of bed. About 7 o'clock, the same morning, there was another shock, though not so violent as the first. [Gazette.]
