CONFIRMATION OF MELANCHOLY NEWS! Capt. M'Lean of the schooner Henrietta, arrived at Savannah on Saturday last, from St. Bartholomews, informs, that accounts had been received from the Spanish Main, stating the Destruction of the Town of La Guayra and Carracas, on the 26th of March, by a dreadful EARTHQUAKE!-about Sixteen Thousand Persons perished in those places; not more than ten houses were left standing in La Guayra. St. Bartholomews experienced two SHOCKS on the night of the 12th inst. This dreadful event took place in those Cities, at the moment when the unfortunate sufferers were at their Places of Worship, it being a Day of Festival among the Catholics.
