Clean air act amendment of 1990: its impact on plant electrical distribution systems

Abstract

To comply with the requirements of the Clean Air Act, many industries are installing emission control processes. These processes require a significant amount of power, resulting in the need for major changes in the capacity and layout of plant electrical distribution systems. Time constraints and the sudden change in power supply requirements dictate that engineering to be completed at an accelerated pace. The paper discusses major items of engineering work, and their sequence of performance necessary to complete the task methodically and in the shortest possible time.
