Contactless sensing of physiological signals using wideband RF probes
Abstract
In this paper, we present a new prototype ultrawideband (UWB) radio frequency (RF) sensor and associated signal recovery algorithms for sensing of heart and lung motion without requiring contact with the skin. We pose the problem of recovering reflectivity profile of the body from UWB RF backscatter measurements as a blind deconvolution problem, and present an iterative algorithm for its solution. We also present subspace based detectors for detecting heart beats in this new imaging modality. © 2013 IEEE.
