Abstract
To what extent have demographics played a unique and integral part in recent political events staged in Arab theaters, and how have historical influences in the Middle East impacted population trends and behaviors? Certainly the "youth bulge" was a contributing factor as youth, who are often jobless and despondent, are a large portion of the population in that area. They have started rebellions against their oppressive regimes with varying degrees of success across the region. These affected governments have continued to resist their people, or have fallen to the masses' rallying cries for modernization and democracy. The research shows that this "youth bulge" played a catalyst-like role for the uprisings across the Middle East, as well as the bulwark of the revolutions' efforts to bring appropriate change to their countries, especially with the added element of social media.
