The Wright home, at 688 Jefferson, is named for General Luke E. Wright, who was Governor General of the Philippines, the first Ambassador to Japan and Secretary of War to President Theodore Roosevelt. The home was demolished in the mid 1960s following a fire but the carriage house survived and still functions as a private residence.
