Abstract
Felt report for the December 16, 1811 earthquake from Raleigh, North Carolina. Time of the earthquakes was “between two and three o’ clock” am (local time) the next two were felt “about seven o’clock” am (local time). The first was “felt by all who were awake at the time” and the second was felt “by some of the members of the assembly who were in the statehouse...” They were “considerably alarmed by the shaking of the building” Good short report.

THE EARTHQUAKE. RALEIGH, (N. C.) Dec. 20. On Monday morning several slight earthquakes were noticed in this city. The first, which was sensibly felt by all who were awake at the time, happened between two and three o'clock. Two others took place about seven o'clock, but were not so distinctly felt, except by some of the members of the assembly who were in the state-house, and were considerably alarmed by the shaking of the building.
