Abstract
Felt report from Norfolk, Virginia for the December 16, 1811 earthquake. Time of the earthquakes was 3:00 am( local time) and 8:00 am (local time). Effect was to stop all clocks, doors and suspended articles vibrated violently. Direction of the quakes was from West to East.

NORFOLK, December 16. Earthquake.--Two very sensible shocks were felt in this town, and as we learn in Portsmouth, at 3 o'clock this morning, and at 8-we have not time to give particulars.-The clocks wee all stopt, and doors and things suspended from the ceilings of the shops and stores, oscillated violently, tho' a dead calm prevailed. Its course was from West to East.
