Abstract
Report from Springfield, Tennessee for the December 16, 1811 earthquake. Long detailed account. Time of first shock was “about 2 o’clock” am (local time) Effect was to shake trees and bushes and roll the earth, It also awakened inhabitants. It also notes aftershocks and notes quakes direction from southwest to northeast.
