Account that the steam boat New Orleans had reached Louisville, Kentucky and had the capability to steam against the current.
Transcript
Rosevelt's Steam Boat, built at Pittsburg, reached Louisville (Falls of Ohio) in 64 hours sailing-a distance of more than 600 miles. She sails against the current at the rate of 13 miles in two hours and a half.
