Abstract
Felt report for the January 23, 1812 earthquake from Annapolis Maryland. It was noted as being a considerable shock. The time of the earthquake was noted to be 9:45 am(local time). The effect was to stop many clocks, Individuals suffered vertigo and nausea. The venetian blinds in the State House at Annapolis were seen to sway North and south at least a Foot. Ships in the harbor felt is sensibly. Good brief account.

Annapolis, Jan. 24. Yesterday morning about 15 minutes before 10 o'clock, a very considerable shock of an earthquake was felt in this city-a number of clocks were stopped, the effect on different persons were nearly the same; it occasioned a giddiness similar to the effects of a vertigo, and sickness at the stomach, similar to that of sea sickness-a number of houses rocked considerably; the Venetian blinds in the State House were observed to vibrate from N. to S. at least one foot, and the vessels in the harbor felt it sensibly.
