Abstract
Felt report for the January 23, 1812 earthquake from Dayton, Ohio. Time of the earthquake was “between 8 and 9 o’clock “ am(local time) It was noted as being more severe than the December 16, 1811 earthquake. Report notes that it was felt equally at Cincinnati and other adjacent towns. At the time of the report( January 30, 1812 other earthquakes had been felt. The most powerful was felt on the morning of January 27, 1812 with a duration of a minute. It shook houses considerably and swayed suspended articles.

Another Earthquake. Between 8 and 9 o'clock on Thursday morning the 23d inst. we had another shock of an Earthquake, more severe, it is generally supposed, than say of those which have preceded it. We are told it was equally alarming at Cincinnati and other adjacent towns. Since the above, several other slight shocks have been felt in this place. The most considerable happened on the morning of the 27th. It agitated the houses considerably, and articles suspended in the stores were kept in motion about one minute.
