Abstract
Felt report for the January 23, 1812 earthquake from Norfolk, Virginia. Time of the earthquake was 9:30am (local time)Report mentions it was also felt at Portsmouth, Virginia. Effect was to shake ships in the harbor, and houses on the wharves were shaken violently. Its duration was 15 seconds.
