Transcript

Extract to the editors of the Baltimore American-dated WASHINGTON, JAN. 23. A slight shock of another earthquake was felt by a number of persons in this city, about 9 o'clock this morning. I heard one gentle man say, that it continued to minutes, with an intermission of a few seconds during that time. It is perhaps proper to mention that considerations of convenience prevented the issuing of the Budget of Mr. Gailatin in a National Intelligencer Extraordinary, on Wednesday morning. The following document was transmitted to the house of representatives this morning. It exhibits the state of our export trade during the last year, as well as the effects of the French municipal trade-laws, and the calamitous injuries of our commerce produced by the British orders in council. Our export, however, in 1811, considerably exceeded the imports."
