Abstract
Felt report from Prairie Du Chein of the effect of the New Madrid earthquakes there. Possibly the February 7, 1812 earthquake. Reported that the quake was “severely felt there”
Transcript
We learn by letters from Prairie duChein, 600 miles north of this place, that the earthquake has been severely felt there. By these letters we also learn; that the British are sending BELTS through all the Indian nations, offering every inducement to take up the hatchet against the United States.
