Abstract
Report from New Madrid from April 24, 1812 describing Indian unrest and the murder of David Duncan by the Creek Indians between New Madrid and the mouth of Ohio
Transcript
Extract, dated New-Madrid, April 24, 1812. "The Indians are becoming troublesome in this quarter. I am informed that two men were killed by the Creeks a few days since between this and the mouth of the Ohio. Mr. David Duncan, with whom you were acquainted, is said to have been one of those unfortunate persons. It would be well to communicate this intelligence to his brother at Maysville, for there can be little doubt of the fact."
