Abstract
Report from Salem, Massachusetts on the Comet of 1811
Transcript
The Comet.--Continues visible. It has passed the equator, [not the ecliptic as mentioned in the Centinel] and was on Wednesday evening last in about 1 1 2 degrees of South declination, and in 312 degrees of Right Ascension. It is easily perceived by the naked eye, a little after 6 o'clock in the evening, bearing W. by S and 10 or 12 degrees above the horizon. Its distance from the earth is about 290 millions of miles--Salem Gaz Jan 10
