Brief report that part of Natchez has sunk killing 4,000 people during the December 16, 1811 earthquake. Report is erroneous
Transcript
A letter received in town yesterday, from Abbeville, states, that a report was in circulation there, on the 16th instant, that a part of NATCHEZ had been sunk by an Earthquake, and four thousand persons perished.
