Abstract
Report from Washington, D. C. on the January 23, 1812 earthquake
Transcript
Another Earthquake.--On Thursday morning (says the National Intelligencer) about 10 minutes past nine, another shock of an earthquake was felt in this city, by most of the inhabitants. It appears to have affected some parts of the city more than others; for whilst some were seriously alarmed by it, there are very many who did not perceive it-The cups and saucers on breakfast tables were heard to rattle; and picture frames, &c. hanging on the walls, were seen to vibrate.
