THE DEPARTING COMET ECCENTRIC Stranger! tell us why You came so near, yet past'd us by? Had you been fraught with vengeful ire, You might have set our world on fire.- Methinks I hear the Comet say- "I knew your tears, and kept away; "No little world will I harm, "Or do the unoffending harm- "Let Rodgers tell how brave he felt, "When firing on the Little Belt!!"
