    Abstract

    “On Thursday morning the 23d inst. at 50 minutes after 8 o’clock. a shock was felt by almost all of the citizens of Dandrige, which lasted about two minutes. The glass in all the window of the court house-in the store of Messers. Marin and Faine, such articles of merchandize as were suspended, continued to vibrate for some time; from the country around, we have received no information.” Dandrige is approximately 20 miles east of Knoxville.

    COMMUNICATION. On Thursday morning the 23d inst. at 50 minutes after 8 o'clock, a shock was felt by almost all the citizens of Dandridge, which lasted about two minutes. The glass in all the windows of the court-house continued to rattle-in the store of Messrs. Martin and Faine, such articles of merchandize as were suspended, continued to vibrate for some time; from the country around, we have received no information.
