Abstract
Felt report for the January 23, 1812 earthquake at Carthage, Tennessee. Duration of the shock was between 4 and 5 minutes. Time of the shock was 3 o’clock.
Transcript
On the morning of the 23d instant, about 3 o'clock the inhabitants of this place were again alarmed by the shock of an Earthquake, which continued between four and five minutes, it is generally believed to be felt nearly as severe here as the one in December, some slight shocks were felt during the day. The cause of the Phenonmenon still remains beyond our comprehension.
