Transcript
EARTHQUAKE. In addition to former accounts communicated thro' the medium of the Spy, others have reached us, from various distant quarters-But first we must observe what several shocks, all comparitively have been felt here since our last. One on Monday between 10 and 11 A. M. was accompanied with a rumbling noise. The last we have noticed happened the next morning, about 2 o'clock. It now appears, that the earthquake has been felt along the Atlantic coast as far as N. Jersey inclusive-but want of room precludes the details. Our readers are referred to a preceding column, for further particulars of this phenomenon on the Mississippi, where it has appeared with considerable violence.
