Abstract
Report that a volcano had erupted on the island of St. Lucia on May 6, 1812. The eruption destroyed a village.

Baltimore, May 20. FROM ST. BARTHOLOMEWS. From captain Daniel, of sch'r Eagle, information is received from St. Lucia of the 6th May, that on the first of May a volcano broke out in the island of St. Lucia, which did great damage among the inhabitants. A small village at the distance of about four or five leagues from the place where the volcano broke out, was mostly destroyed, and likewise several of the plantations. A great many of the inhabitants became the victims of this dreadful event.
