Abstract
Brief report from area relating that damage was extensive south of the mouth of the Ohio river. Notes damage was greater on the western side of the river.
Transcript
From the mouth of the Ohio 90 miles down the (unreadable) Island sunk considerably, and much of the land was cracked. Immunerable old trees, at the bottom of the river, were thrown up so that much of them projected above the water. In one case about 200 acres of the bank and near it fell in. The damage was greater on the western than on the eastern side of the river.
