Felt report for the January 23, 1812 earthquake at Augusta, Georgia
Transcript
On Thursday last about 9 o'clock A. M. the inhabitants of this place were alarmed by another shock of an Earthquake, supposed by some to be equally as violent as the one noticed by us a few weeks ago. Its direction was evidently from south to north.
