Abstract
Article noting that February 7, 1812 earthquake was felt in Mecklenburg county but that the letter did not need to be published because the effects were already known.
Transcript
We have received from a very respectable correspondent in Mecklenburg, a long account of the Earthquake, felt in that country, on the 7th ult. and before noticed in this paper. As the phenomenon was not confined to that part of the country, but was likewise felt throughout the southern states, and in nothing differing from the effects produced elsewhere, we deem it needless to give the communication a place in our paper.
