Transcript
The late Earthquake was felt in every part of the country which we have heard from; without, however, doing any considerable damage. In the neighborhood of Nashville some chimnies were thrown down, at Louisville it broke off some chimnies, and dashed in the gable end of a house. The first shock was felt at both places at the same hour it was here. The Louisville paper states that they yet felt slight shocks at intervals, even on Friday; and not a day had elapsed at Limestone without some of the same phenomena. We are informed a slight shock was felt in this town on Sunday last between 9 & 10 o'clock, P.M. It is conjectured by some that a volcano, has been formed on the waters of the Ohio from the appearance of bitumen floating past Limestone.
