Abstract
Letter from Mississippi territory describing the effect of the December 16, 1811 earthquake there. Described grounding of a boat on the Chickasaw Bluffs 40 yards up on a sand bar. Time felt 3:00 am first shock, two more felt at 7:00 am, On February 8 one was felt 10:00 am. Noted that it was felt throughout the territory.
