Abstract
Report that a fireball or meteorite was seen passing over Pittsburgh from horizon to horizon. Brightness was described as equal to the moon and the same size. Event occurred around time of the February 7, 1812 earthquake.
Transcript
A ball of fire passed over Pittsburgh, apparently as large as the moon and its light about equal.-The time of its passing from one side of the horizon to the other was three or four seconds.
