Abstract

Originally from the Pearl River community, Grady John and his wife Betty were members of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and began working at Chucalissa in 1959. In addition to performing Choctaw songs, he would frequently demonstrate pottery-making techniques. John also served as president of the West Tennessee Band of Choctaw.

This recording was used as introductory material for several informational videos and presentations throughout the C. H. Nash Museum's early history.
