Abstract
Lionfly is a book-length collection of poems which explores the fragmentation of identity. The tensions explored include the dichotomy between exterior and interior self and the role of memory and relationships in creating self-perception, particularly in terms of female inheritance. These different influences are approached through poems centered around romantic and familial relationships, dream poems, and ekphrastic poems which explore identity through the interpretation of artwork.
