Abstract
In this thesis we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the isometric equivalence of classes of operators on various Banach spaces. These spaces include the Hardy spaces, Bloch Space and Spaces of Symmetric Operators. Our approach to the isometric equivalence problem follows the classical trend for the analogous unitary equivalence problem in a Hilbert space setting. We employ the form of the surjective linear isometries supported by these spaces to derive conditions on the defining symbols of an operator to assure isometric equivalence.
