Adaptive beamforming based on Snell's law of reflection
Abstract
Ultrasound imaging performs poorly when it comes to visualize acoustically hard objects such as bones, needles, or catheters. These objects reflect sound specularly, while soft tissue scatters sound evenly in all directions. Conventional delay-and-sum (DAS) beamforming is based on the assumption of a purely scattering domain.
