Policy control: A low resource intervention for improving staff behavior

Abstract

This investigation, centering on staff employed in a forensic psychiatry setting, was initiated in an attempt to increase staff adherence to an important program function. During a baseline period; it was discovered that staff compliance with the program function was only 4.2%. Minimal revision of administrative policy increased staff compliance to 80.5%. The effects of this revision, which involved no additional consequation other than information feedback, were attributed to cuing, shaping, and feedback functions. Additional results and implications of these findings were discussed. Copyright. © 1978 by Behavioral Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.
