Selecting the Optimal Journal Outlets
Abstract
In selecting journals to which to submit publisher’ manuscripts, publisher should aim high-striving to submit to the most well-known, high-impact journals. In the past, when authors were considering journal outlets, they were likely to highly value the circulation of the journal in hard copy form and the length of the period between acceptance and publication. It is important to consider the types of articles published in a journal. As such, send publisher’ strongest manuscripts to the highest-tier journals and publisher’ weaker manuscripts to lower-tier journals. The Article Influence score is more similar to the traditional impact indices, but it reflects the average Eigenfactor Score relative to articles published across journals during the select year. Even if publisher’ research is somewhat peripheral to the professional practice of school psychology and to the research typically published in journals in the field, publisher will benefit from tailoring their manuscript to match the journal they have targeted.
