COMPUTERIZED POLICE ARTIST.
Abstract
Creating a sketch of a suspect's face from a witness' verbal description is the job of the police artist. While aides to this process, such as IDENTI-KIT, have been developed, an experienced police officer remains an integral part of the process. This paper describes WHATSISFACE, the world's first computerized facial compositor. In its current form it permits a non-artist to make a recognizable sketch of a face from a photograph in front of him.
