Global perspective on the banking crisis and recovery: An analysis of domestic vs. foreign banks
Abstract
The objective of this study is threefold. First, we compare the negative impact of the financial crisis on the stock prices of U.S. banks vs. overseas banks. Second, we examine the crisis events and policy interventions that carried the most impact on equity valuations of financial stocks. Third, we examine various firm-specific attributes associated with stock price decline of U.S. banks and foreign banks.
