Development of a media equivalent as a foundation for a biomimicking vascular prosthetic
Abstract
A research is carried out, focusing on the design, construction, and characterization of a device equipped to wind the collagen threads at specific, pre-defined orientations. The device will be employed, using 50-250 μm collagen fibers, to develop small diameter vascular prostheses that have the potential to withstand physiological intraluminal pressures without incorporation of synthetic materials.
