An assessment process for a capstone course: Design of fluid thermal systems
Abstract
An assessment process for a capstone design course, design of fluid thermal systems, that meets the need of engineering students regarding educational processes and objectives is analyzed. The main purpose of the assessment process was to improve the quality of the course by obtaining feedback about the capstone design course from students who have completed it. The goals of the process were to provide the students with the ability to solve practical pipe flow problems, determine the pipe diameter and operating costs for an installation. It also provides an insight to students to calculate outlet temperatures of two flow streams.
