Multiaxial fatigue behavior of selective laser melted Ti6Al4V
Abstract
Selective laser melting (SLM) is a common method amongst the newly developed additive manufacturing processes. Ti-6Al-4V alloy has a wide range of applications and is one of the most common alloys made by additive manufacturing. Experimental results on multiaxial fatigue behavior of this alloy made by the SLM process is presented and compared with the behavior of traditional wrought material in this study. The effects of heat treatment and surface finish condition are also evaluated.
