Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) and Electro-Optical Sensors: Simulation
Abstract
The design of electro-optic and infrared-imaging sensors has advanced through the use of computer modeling. These models allow the user to assess the impact of design changes by providing predictions of basic laboratory measurements such as modulation transfer function, minimum resolvable contracts, or minimum resolvable temperature difference. This entry covers the theory and practice of simulating sensor systems, and detail some of the applications associated with sensor simulations.
