Dual triboluminescent dopants in vinyl ester short beams: Failure mode identification

Abstract

• Room lights on: • Short integration time → just noise • Long integration time → spectra of room lights • Longer integration times allows capture of more photons → better representation of wavelengths present in the recorded light • Room lights emit with a wavelength between 550 nm and 585 nm, near wavelength of interest → future tests conducted in dark • Room lights off: • No noticeable change observed at different integration times • Room is sufficiently dark to record triboluminescence • Repetitive drop weight tests: • Spectra recorded near impact showed a few promising peaks near expected ZnS:Mn emission of 585 nm • Comparing those two recordings to 100+ recordings at same settings but without impact indicate peaks are just noise.
