Response Time Studies for Precipitate-Based Ion-Selective Electrodes in the Range of the Lower Detection Limit
Abstract
With the aim of obtaining kinetic information, the dynamic behavior of precipitate-based Ion-selective electrodes has been studied with the so-called activity-step method In a wide activity range. In the range of the lower detection limit a critical activity value was observed, below which the response time Increased significantly and was no longer flow rate dependent. On the basis of the results It was concluded that below the critical activity value the rate of the electrode response Is determined principally by processes slower than the film diffusion. © 1982, American Chemical Society.
