Absence of photoregulation of abundant mRNA levels in Euglena
Abstract
Exposure of dark grown resting Euglena to light in the presence or absence of 84 mN ethanol, a specific inducer of glyoxysomes and catabolite repressor of chloroplast development, did not alter the relative levels of any of the 300 most abundant mRNAs as determined by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis of the translation products synthesized in a nuclease-treated rabbit reticulocyte lysate. © 1984.
