Advances in fiber and film flow
Abstract
We give an account of recent advances in fiber and film flow. In particular, we address local and global solvability of the equations of fiber spinning, semigroup theory for the linearized equations of film casting, and eigenvalue asymptotics via Birkhoff sequences. In general, we will present the salient points in the proofs of the various results without dwelling on technicalities. We shall provide new perspectives for the underlying analytical issues and shed light on some physical consequences. © 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
