Control of systems governed by partial differential equations: a historical perspective
Abstract
A brief account of some historical developments in the area of deterministic control for systems governed by partial differential equations is provided. Particular emphasis is placed on problems with boundary and point controls which are physically attractive and mathematically challenging.
