Immunocytochemical localization of RuBisCO in the compartmentalized osmiophilic body in dark-grown cells of Euglena gracilis Z
Abstract
A compartmentalized osmiophilic body (COS) appears to be composed of a central osmiophilic core with connected reticulate extensions of the same material. We confirmed by immunoelectron microscopy that ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBisCO) is concentrated in the COS of dark-grown Euglena gracilis Z.
