The self in the Cartesian brain
Abstract
The following considers the role of our increased understanding of the neurobiological function of the brain in relation to classical Cartesian representations versus embodied self theories. The movement toward a multifaceted, narrative account of the self is discussed. © 2011 New York Academy of Sciences.
